Qui Gon Jinn was an ambassador of the Galactic Republic who was sent to settle a dispute of the Trade Federation, the main provider of the republic's army of battle droids, who was planning to leave the Republic forming their own Confederacy of Independent Systems. The negotiations failed and Qui Gon was able to intercept the Trade Federation's conspiracy against the Republic, by invading the middle rim system, starting off with Naboo to sabatoge the Republic's trade routes to the outer rims. On his escape and after crash landing on Tatooine, Qui Gon was captured and enslaved by Jawa. He was then sold a local called Watto. There he met Anakin Skywalker. He finally revealed to be a Jedi after Sith Probes were sent attacking them. Watto offered them a transport but Qui Gon was captured, Anakin was able to escape with C3PO and R2D2 who was carrying the plans. Anakin was guided by Qui Gon through the Force to find his apprentice, Obi Wan Kenobi, who was there to aid local law enforcements to arrest a gang leader.
